Card Holder FAQ
What happens when a person misplaces or loses the card?
The CubeCard should be handled as though it were cash, or a money order.
If it is lost, than anyone who finds it may use it to make purchases.
The most sensitive time is between purchasing and registering the card.
During that time, proof of control has not yet been established, so a
thief could take a card stolen during this time and register it themselves
to gain full, legitimate control of the card. Also, cards in this unregistered
state which are lost should be considered as lost cash.
However, if you have already registered your card and authenticated it with
your email address, then you have some options.
First of all, the fact that you will receive notification of any use of the card,
serves as a deterent to theft.
Secondly, you can purchase another card, register it, and then consolidate your
missing card into your newly authenticated card.
What happens if I make a partial payment, and then cancel the transaction?
If you press the cancel button, then CubeCard will void the partial transaction
and the amounts on hold will be returned to each card involved.
What happens if my computer crashes after making a partial payment?
In this case, the amounts on hold will still be on hold until you
contact CubeCard to resolve the problem. However, it is being planned to allow
for more automatic handling of this, such as timeouts set by the merchant.
If I return an item who do I go to in order to get my money back
Once you pay for an item using the CubeCard, the merchant has control.
If you dispute the purchase, your only recourse is to the merchant from whom
you made the purchase.
Merchants will be given the ability to credit your CubeCard for an amount not to
exceed the original purchase price.
Will I be sent any Advertising E-mail from CubeCard or others?
If you revealed information to the merchant, that information may be available
according to the policies of the merchant.
Besides this, you will have the option to periodically receive information and updates
from CubeCard, including special offers from commercial entities.
Do I have to give my change to charity or can I transfer it to another card?
You can transfer it to another card.
Only when a card is inactive for 60 days with under $4 on it, will the card be
deactivated and the money given to your designated charity.
If I give my change to charity...will I get a receipt?
Upon transfer of the money, an email receipt will be sent out.
In addition, the charity may issue you a receipt separately.
