Merchant Acceptance Program

Think about it!

Increase your pool of online buyers... Online purchasing is currently limited to those who have credit cards and are not afraid to use them. A pre-paid card opens up online shopping to those who don't want to use their credit cards online as well as those who don't have credit cards, including international customers. Sales from foreign buyers, consumers without credit cards, teenagers, and those with security fears will increase the number of purchases at CubeCard participating websites.

Reduction of loss... Loss due to credit card fraud. The CubeCard is pre-paid, it works just like cash. Once you as the merchant accept authorization from CubeCard, you get paid.

Consumers ready to buy.... Unlike credit cards where the buyer buys now and pays later, the CubeCard is pre-paid. These customers have already spent their money on the card either as a gift or for their own convenience. Can they use it at your website?

No charge-backs... CubeCard merchants will have little risk of charge-backs (fees and costs associated with unauthorized transactions) associated with CubeCard transactions. All CubeCard purchases are considered cash payments and it is the responsibility of the consumer to secure the confidentiality of their card and authorization numbers. This process allows you to maintain control over the transaction.

No upfront investments. Unlike credit card systems, there are no upfront investments to accept the CubeCard.

Highlights

Fees Merchants save money with CubeCard. No monthly minimums are required and online statements are available at no additional charge. Contact CubeCard to learn about your transaction fees.

Easily integrated The CubeCard can be easily integrated into merchant websites. Most major shopping cart providers and e-commerce providers will have CubeCard preloaded as a payment option by the end of 2000.

Consumer Acceptance Consumers accept the CubeCard because it is easy to understand, has multiple uses, and is the only widely available payment mechanism for quick, prepaid transactions online. CubeCards are purchased as the ultimate gift card by seniors, teens, baby-boomers, and anyone who is uncomfortable using their credit card online.

How does it work?

Merchant Transactions

Utilizing existing processes for Internet merchant shopping carts, the merchant will provide a link to a co-branded payment page at CubeCard.com. This link, encrypted using the standard SSL protocol, will send an invoice number and amount due to a secure, restricted CubeCard web page. Once a payment has been authorized, the transaction is stored for later batch processing. Email confirmations of the transaction will be sent to the merchant and the customer.

Step by step

  1. Consumer selects items and proceeds to the checkout option on the merchant shopping cart.
  2. Under payment options, the CubeCard will be selected instead of a credit card.
  3. The consumer will be linked to the CubeCard authorization page and enter their account number and pin code. Multiple cards can be used on each purchase if necessary.
  4. Once the transaction is approved, the consumer will be directed back to the merchant website with an authorization code.
  5. Merchants will fulfill the order as if they had received a credit card authorization number.
  6. Once an order is fulfilled, the internet merchant will notify CubeCard to proceed with payment to the merchant.
  7. Merchants will be credited within 36 hours of order fulfillment. The status of all orders and payments will be available online to the merchant 24 hours per day.
  8. Payments to internet merchants will eventually be made daily from Bank of America. Prior to September 2000, payments will be made every Friday, or when the balance owed to a merchant exceeds $300, whichever comes first.
